Environmental media networks
Ethiopian Environment Journalists Association (EEJA)
EEJA is a non-governmental, not for-profit making and non-partisan local organization founded by senior media professionals interested to contribute their share in areas of media, environment communication and sustainable development. In total, EEJA has above 50 media practitioners in Ethiopia as its members.
Kenya Environment and Science Journalists Association
The Kenya Environment and Science Journalists Association (KENSJA) was founded on February 2, 2007 to give environment and science journalists and communicators a platform for professional development, local and international networking. The KENSJA seeks to promote the role of environment and science journalists as key players in the comity of civilised society and democracy.
Union of Environmental Journalists
UEJ was founded by journalists after the coverage of the National Environmental Action Plan Stakeholders Conference in Sierra Leone in 1996. In the following year, a coup resulted in a mass exodus of one million Sierra Leoneans including many UEJ members. After the democratic restoration in 2002, the Environmental Foundation for Africa proposed a Forum of NGO’s. The meeting resulted in the Environmental Forum for Action (ENFORAC), of which UEJ is a founding member. UEJ continues to build the capacity of Sierra Leones environmental journalists and encourages their publication morally and materially.
