“The agenda we see now is the European agenda, not our agenda.”
No commentsLasten Mika of Practical Action, a non-governmental organisation working in South Africa with active projects in Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia, and a keen interest to spread into Malawi, said that his group was at the Bali summit of the UNFCCC for many reasons. “We are here to share with the rest of the world the work we are doing, to address issues of climate change among the world’s poor people, to do our best and to improve our work,” Mika said at the Bali summit of the UNFCCC.
“We have tried to demonstrate the real issues that need support on the subject of climate change. The United Nations and the European Union are trying to destroy the campaign of developing countries,” Mika added, “We continue to raise our voice. It’s full time work! The negotiations here are not presented well. There are few delegates. The agenda we see now is the European agenda, not our agenda. My advice to delegates is to mobilise support before we go to Poland. If we are not in agreement on the fund, we must start from the beginning again.”
