Women demand a voice
No commentsWomen’s rights activists have demonstrated at the UN Climate Change conference in Poznan, Poland demanding more pro-women policies in addressing climate change. The women marched to the conference hall carrying placards saying the climate debate is gender blind. During the march, Lorena Aguilar, Senior Gender Advisor for International Union for Conservation of Nature told crowds of supporters that women are more likely to be killed by natural disasters such as floods, cyclones and heat waves, than have their voices heard. Vision Voice’s Wambi Michael talked to one African protestor to find out the perspective of rural women in Kenya.
