Disasters caused by climate change influence Indonesian efforts to eradicate poverty. Mitigation and adaptation efforts that are formulated in the conference will create job occupation and eradicate poverty.
Duta besar PBB untuk tujuan Pembagunan Milinium, Erna Witoelar mengharapkan pertemuan Bali memperhatikan juga komitmen Tujuan Pembangunan Milenium. Bencana yang terjadi karena perubahan iklim sangat berpengaruh pada upaya mengurangi kemiskinan di Indonesia. Mitigasi dan adaptasi harus bisa menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan dan mengurangi kemiskinan.
