Sokhoeun Khut
Khut Sokhoeun was born in the Cambodian province of Kandhal but spent his childhood in Thailand, where his family fled as refugees in 1981. He returned to Cambodia at the age of 13 to pursue his education and went on to become an English teacher. His started his career at the Women’s Media Center of Cambodia as a volunteer and became a reporter in 2006. He was shortly promoted to Radio Programme Producer and worked since then on several radio programmes, some of which related to CEDAW, Land Conflict in Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge Tribunal. Khut has recently started a master degree course in the field of Development Studies at the Royal University of Phnom Penh.

Women take the lead in adaptation projects

The South-Asian nation has consistently over the past ten years been ranked as one of three countries most affected by extremes of weather. For this reason, significant amounts of money have been invested in developing adaptation strategies. Women, traditionally homemakers in rural communities, have especially benefited from these projects.
