Harry Surjadi

Harry Surjadi, founder and chairman of the Society of Indonesian Environmental Journalists, has been working as an environmental journalist for 20 years. After graduating from Bogor Agriculture University, Surjadi began his journalism career at Trubus, an agriculture magazine. He then worked for the Kompas daily for nearly 10 years. Since 2001, he has worked as a freelancer, contributing to various other outlets. He also wrote a chapter about Indonesia for the 2004 book "Climate Change: Perspective Five Years After Kyoto." Since 2004, Surjadi has conducted dozens of workshops for journalists and non-governmental workers throughout Indonesia. He was a Knight International Journalism Fellow in 2007-2008.
