David Akana

David Akana is an Associate Editor of Pan African Visions – an online magazine marketing African success stories where he reports on environment and development. Previously, David worked as founding Editor-in-Chief of Radio Environment - the pioneer in radio on conservation in the Central African Region - with headquarters in Yaounde, Cameroon. He has also occupied senior editorial positions in several other newsrooms in Cameroon notably the Cameroon Radio Television Corporation, Radio Reine and Among Youths Magazine. In addition, David continues to contribute articles to Cameroon’s leading English-language newspaper – The Post Newspaper. He holds a BSc in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Buea in Cameroon and has attended several short term training courses on environment and development issues across Africa and in other parts of the world.

Cameroon will not benefit from funds being raised to combat the adverse effects of global warming. Cameroon’s exclusion from eligibility for a share of the US $30 bn (about 16 trillion FCFA) likely to be available is because it has not signed the Copenhagen Accord agreed late last year at the UN climate summit.
