International Center for Communications Development
ICCD is an organization that provides professional training and international exchanges opportunities for Chinese nationals in the areas of communication, journalism and digital media. ICCD offers three main types of services: trains and conferences, online services, facilitating international exchanges and partnerships. In China, ICCD started operations in late 2004. Its head office in China is in Beijing and it maintains three branch offices in Xi’an, Guangzhou and Wuhan with a total staff of over 30 Chinese and international professionals.
Mexican Network of Environmental Journalists
The Mexican Network of Environmental Journalists A. C. is a nonprofit organization that seeks the development of environmental journalism in Mexico. To achieve the training aims at a permanent theme of environmental journalists, the promotion of free access to environmental information, the sharing of experiences between environmental journalists in the country and other nations, the formalization of agreements and strategic alliances with companies, Governments, foundations and organizations. With about 200 members, the Network has the grouping of both journalists and researchers in areas related to environment, which enhances the exchange of experiences.
Panos Caribbean
Panos Caribbean is a regional nongovernmental organisation (NGO) which seeks to empower all sectors of society to articulate their own information on development issues. It was established in 1986 in Washington, DC to help people participate in the development debate, in particular through the media. Panos Caribbean works with poor people and various marginalised groups to build their capacity to communicate their own information and perspectives on development. This is because Panos strongly believes that development issues can only be solved if the directly affected people have a say.
Panos South Asia
Panos South Asia has its headquarters in Kathmandu (Nepal) with country offices in New Delhi (India), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Karachi (Pakistan), and Dhaka (Bangladesh). Its vision is to make societies inclusive, democratic and just. Panos South Asia seeks to renegotiate power through media by enabling diverse opinions, ideas and theories to be included in the debate on governance and development. It works through media to bring neglected subjects to the fore in developmental debate, so as to give a platform for voices and perspectives, often rendered voiceless in the public sphere.
Panos Southern Africa
For more than a decade, Panos Institute Southern Africa (PSAf) has been cultivating an informed and inclusive environment for public policy debate in the region, working with the media and other communicators to enable marginalized populations to play an active role in the decision-making process that drives development. PSAf was founded in 1996 as a branch of Panos London, and became an autonomous organization in May 2005. With a regional office in Lusaka, Zambia, PSAf works with other Panos Institutes based in London, Paris, Canada, South Asia, West and East Africa and the Caribbean.
The Society of Indonesian Environmental Journalists
The Society of Indonesian Environmental Journalists (SIEJ) is an independent, not-for-profit, and non-partisan journalism organization. The missions of SIEJ are to advance public understanding of environmental issues by improving the quality of environmental reporting, to provide critical support to journalists of all media in their efforts to cover complex issues of the environment responsibly, to offer unique services for working journalists through educational programs, seminars or conferences, print or electronic publication, awards for the best environmental reporting, and other activities, and to raise awareness among editors, news managers, publishers, and other key decision-makers in the media on the value and importance of environmental news reporting.
Vietnam Forum of Environmental Journalists
Vietnam Forum of Environmental Journalists (VFEJ) is a socio-professional organization of those who are interested in, advocate and operate in the field of environmental journalism and environment conservation. The VFEJ mission is to motivate and assist Vietnamese journalists to actively contribute to environmental protection and climate change adaptation for sustainable development through journalism.
